I play tennis with a 62 year old retired man with 9.5 fingers...and yet I still lose to him sometimes!!

European Vacation (Look Kids, Big Ben)

So, I'm back from 2 weeks in Europe. Sounds SO damn pretentious--but it was much more of a trip to see old friends then it was to be a tourist. I love the Randalls who I stayed with for a week in England...they are like a bonus family for me. A home away from home--wherever they live. They are one of the few couples and families that I look at and say, hmmm-maybe some day I can be as cool as they are. It was such a sweet time. Seeing Travis turn 24...when the last time I saw him he was probably 14--other than maybe one other run in at 20. What an amazing young man he's grown into.
I also had lots of fun in Holland...hanging with my ol' homeboy, Roberto. It was fun playing with my new digital cam. Good times. I could see living in London or England in general. Obviously there's the language issue to overcome--but otherwise--it's pretty simple living. ha.
Well--what lies ahead. Hawaii. End of October. Anyone wanna come?

Cause Haley Wants to Know...

I just saw the documentary, Word Play, about crossword puzzles. Cool. It's similar to Word Wars, which is a doc about scrabble players...only the scrabble doc was more about the crazy people who play and Word Wars was more about the use of words and puzzles and such. I love The Charles where i saw the movie, such a cool movie house. I bumped into my landlord after the movie there--fun. He's getting kinda old. But i think he realized who i was. He saw Prairie Home Campanion--said it was good. I go tomorrow to shoot video of a high school girl's lacrosse player in Kent Island. Should be hot and sweaty and fun?!?

I just got back from Denver--where even when it rains, it's dryer than Baltimore. Ugh. It's so sickeningly humid here. I think I'm used to it until I travel to a place like Denver and I realize there are other climate options available!!

I've got one month til Europe vacation--the summer of GEORGE continues! I hope and I pray God shows me who and how much folks will be sponsoring my TV show next year. Money. Sucks to live by it--sucks to live without it. God help me.

click changed my life

Ha--believe it or not, watching Adam Sandler's new flick, Click--is having a huge impact on me right now. I really need to stop wasting my life and time... just pissing it away each day. i need to live more intentionally and with greater abandon. i'm so sick of waiting for the next thing... the next job, the next trip, the next girl...whatever! I'm alive today--and tomorrow i've got life to live. so get to it, michael!

man collapses

So, I was shooting video for Habitat in Bmore today and this guy who is a part of the celebration/dedication of this newly finished rehab, just collapses. He was sitting below me--as I perched myself on the roof of the Habitat pickup truck. It struck me that everyone was quick to call 911...but no one knew anything medical to do for the guy. They eventually brought him a chair and some water--but that took probably 10 minutes. Also, no one seemed to jump to his help spiritually. We all just prayed for the house and family...but no one came over to pray with/for him. It was interesting. It took me a while to interact myself--I was kinda stuck on the truck with my camera and tripod, just observing. Eventually I prayed for the guy. It was an odd experience. Apparently he's ok. They walked him to the ambulance without much struggle. That's my story.

Y not?

It's a rainy Saturday and I'm chilling at home after making waffles. Mmmm. So, it seemed like a good time to start a blog. Y not?
